The Doll Club of Great Britain
Founded in 1953, the Doll Club of Great Britain exists to promote the knowledge, appreciation, study and preservation of dolls, dolls’ houses, toys and juvenilia — for both our members and the wider public.
We are a friendly and knowledgeable association of collectors whose interests span every area of the doll world. Our members include specialists in antique and modern dolls, dolls’ houses, teddy bears and soft toys, as well as those skilled in their repair and conservation.
Our Mission
To research, share and preserve knowledge of dolls and related objects for future generations, within a community built on friendship, enthusiasm and shared interests.
We achieve this by:
• Bringing together collectors of all types of dolls — from early English wooden dolls to modern fashion and artist dolls.
• Encouraging and inspiring new collectors to discover the rich social and cultural history of dolls.
• Supporting learning through talks, publications, research and shared expertise.
Whether you are a member or simply curious, our website offers:
• Articles on dolls and collecting
• News from the doll world
• A library of useful links for study and research
For Members
In addition to all of the above, members enjoy:
• Plangon Magazine
• Monthly newsletters
• Monthly meetings with leading doll experts
• A private Club Facebook group
• Visits to collections, special events and trips
• Access to videos of past meetings and exclusive resources
• Most importantly, friendships with others who share your passion
