The Doll Club of Great Britain is an association of collectors whose interests are wide and varied.  Within the club there are members whose expertise lays in dolls, dolls’ houses, teddy bears and soft toys, and the repair and conservation of these items.

Formed in 1953 to ensure the preservation of old and interesting dolls, dolls’ houses and accessories, the Doll Club of Great Britain has a long history, and has enabled members to expand their knowledge through monthly meetings, where speakers are invited to share their knowledge, and where the ‘show and tell’ table is enthusiastically filled with members items, study days, museum visits, visits to private collections and other trips.

The Doll Club of Great Britain has always thrived to not only preserve dolls and dolls’ houses, but the vast amount of information that has been shared over the years about these subjects.

The club boasts many prestigious and highly knowledgeable members, who willingly share their research and their skills.

Members who are unable to regularly attend meetings are able to keep in touch with the clubs’ activities through Plangon, the club magazine.  As well as listing future events, Plangon reports on the clubs’ activities.  It also contains comprehensive articles and features, and is continually evolving to meet the needs of the members.

As members have different areas of expertise and interest, many are also connected to different clubs and associations, including the Dolls’ House Society and the International Doll Makers Association.

Annual membership fee, which includes four issues of Plangon, is £30 for UK members, £35 Europe, £40 Rest of World.  Corporate membership which includes a half page ad in Plangon, is £60 a year.
