The Patience Doll presented by Andy and Becky Ourant

Andy and Becky Ourant are excited to present their program, “Patience, the Doll Who Raised Money for The Great Ormand Street Hospital”. She is an early Portrait Jumeau Bebe that was entered in a doll costuming competition dressed in a cap and gown from Girton College. She was purchased by a prominent London family who emigrated to America in the late 19th Century.

Their programme will start with a short history of the Great Ormand Street Hospital, then they will introduce some of the famous patrons who sponsored The Doll Show. They will also share some of the activities available during their two day show, and finally introduce Patience, and share their theory as to who costumed her and why, and finally tell us about her trip to America and the ups and downs she experienced for over 100 years before she came to live with us.
