The DCGB meeting on Saturday 17th November is an integral part of the 200 Years of Childhood weekend. As with our usual club meetings, it will take place at St Mary Abbotts Hall. In that way, it is similar to our normal club meetings. But in every other aspect, it is different:
– Timing is from 13.30-17.00
– It is an open event – with nonclub members who are attending the weekend encouraged to come
– You need to pre book (so we know the numbers for the seminars and the afternoon cream tea). You do that online by going to https://london-international-antique-teddy-bear-doll-and-toy-fair.myshopify.com/ and clicking on “Seminars”. Go down to the bottom of the page and click on the seminar combination you want (see below for details). Make sure you click on the DCGB £25 (discount) option. If you have any problems booking online then contact Hilary Pauley on email@example.com. She will be able to help.
You can attend 2 out of the following 4 seminars (you choose when you pre book):
Samy Odin: “Francois Gaultier, the most prolific French doll head maker of the 19th Century”
Ann: “Miserable Mysteries in Dolldom – a look at some solved and unsolved cases”
Margaret Kinkaid: “The Furnishings of a Doll’s Life”
Olivia Bristol: “200 Years of Dolls House Dolls”
And see two displays – one on World War I dolls and toys and one on the history of our club.
An English Cream Tea will be provided half way through the afternoon and a quality raffle will take place just before the close.
The plan for the afternoon is as follows:
13.45 Seminars – session 1
14.45 Afternoon cream tea & the opportunity to see the two DCGB displays
15.45 Seminars – session 2
This is a great opportunity for the club to extend a warm welcome to everyone visiting for the weekend, so please make an effort to come (and to help!)
