HAPPY NEW YEAR 2020!
Our next meeting is:
SATURDAY 14TH MARCH
St Mary Abbot’s Church Hall Vicarage Gate, London W8 4HN
11.00-4.00PM (PLEASE NOTE EARLIER START TIME)
WE ARE NOW ABLE TO USE THE LARGE HALL UPSTAIRS, SO WE WILL BE HAVING A ‘SALE OF THE YEAR’ (SEE BELOW FOR MORE DETAILS)
The AGM will take place in the morning.
The Faith Eaton Cup (formerly the Terrot Cup} and the Florence King Memorial Plate
entries will be judged during the afternoon. The Coleman Award for contributions
through writing to further our knowledge, will be presented.
The Faith Eaton Cup is awarded for handmade dolls clothes, sewn by a member of the
club, and the Florence King Memorial Plate (formally known as the Commemoration
Award) is for a knitted or crochet outfit for a doll of any size. For both the competitions
it is the clothing which will be judged, not the doll. The clothing need not be displayed
on a doll. Please bring your entries to the AGM.
The afternoon talk will be on English Wooden Dolls, presented by Carol Cameron.
Please bring along examples of British wooden dolls, of any age, for the Show and Tell.
Following the success of last three years sales, we are having another ‘Sale of the Year’.
Members are encouraged to bring quality doll/dolls house related items to sell (tagged,
clearly showing the price and the sellers name), volume wise anything from 1 – 2 items to
one table max. There will be no charge for space – instead sellers will be asked to donate
10% of their takings to club funds, up to max £50.
There will be a raffle and a charity table.
Please bring a packed lunch.
